Nicole Phinopoulou specializes in Banking and Financial Law, with over 20 years of professional experience and continuous legal development. Her expertise focuses on Corporate, Commercial and Financial Law, with strong specialization in Regulatory Compliance and in the design, implementation and review of strategic and operational frameworks supporting Sustainability and Sustainable Development objectives.

She holds an LL.B from the University of Leicester and an LL.M in Corporate and Commercial Law from University College London (UCL). She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (LPC) from City, University of London.

In 2021, she completed the Executive Programme “Circular Economy and Sustainability Strategies” at Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. Since 2020, she has been an Alumna of the Cambridge University Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), specializing in Sustainable Finance.

She is certified as an Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer (MLCO) by the International Compliance Association and the Cyprus Bar Association. She is also a certified trainer by the Human Resource Development Authority of Cyprus (HRDA) for projects of vital importance and holds a GRC certification (Governance, Financial Regulation and Compliance) obtained in 2025.

Ms. Phinopoulou served as an independent member of the Board of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission and of the University of Cyprus (2018–2021). Since 2003, she has been an active member of the Cyprus Bar Association, participating in the Companies, Capital Markets and Tax Planning Committee. In this capacity, she represented the Cyprus Bar Association before the House of Representatives, particularly at the Parliamentary Committee on Finance and Budget and the Parliamentary Committee on Commerce, contributing to legislative reforms concerning Non-Performing Loans (NPLs) and broader ESG and Sustainable Development matters (including EU Sustainable Development framework, NFRD, CSRD and CSDDD).

She is a founding member and pro bono legal advisor of the Cyprus Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability Association (CSR Cyprus) (est. 2015) (www.csrcyprus.org.cy), and has acted as advisor for the first ISO CSR Cyprus Government Registration. She also serves as Secretary and Board Member of the non-profit organization Intensive Residential Units Foundation (EOM Foundation) (est. 1996) (www.eomfoundation.org).
