Overview:

The programme was designed specifically for members of HR departments and for executives other departments acting as interviewers in recruitment processes, and more specifically in conducting face-to-face interviews. The programme provides all the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge needed by participants as interviewers, to conduct interviews in a structured manner and to make objective decisions. Within the framework of the programme, participants will have the opportunity to practice and demonstrate the roles of interviewer and interviewer roles.

Importance:

Conducting personal interviews has always been a very popular methodology for assessing candidates for recruitment, both in small and large organisations. Both the proper preparation and the successful conduct of a personal interview require the proper training of the individuals who take part in the process as interviewers. The selection of the most competent candidates is very important for any organisation, in view of the fact that, to a large extent, the future performance and effectiveness of the organisation is at stake. Conducting selection interviews in a systematic and structured manner enhances the image of the organisation in the eyes of the candidates and also improves the wider credibility image of the organisation in the labour market. It is also important as interviewers objectively assess specific professional qualities, (competencies), which the organisation wants its human resource members to demonstrate within the context of their work. This is achieved by preparing and asking targeted questions within the framework of a competency-based interview.

Learning Objectives:

  • Name the different types of interviews.
  • Relate the criteria of the personal interview to the job role description.
  • To formulate correct questions in the context of conducting structured personal interviews.
  • How to formulate structured interview questions.
  • Distinguish stereotypes in interviews to avoid discrimination.
  • Demonstrate the basic skills for conducting objective interview.
  • Classify and evaluate the information collected from interviews.
  • Document the information completed on the evaluation form.
  • Justify their decisions to select specific candidates by with specific and objective data.
  • Participate successfully in committees conducting personal interviews.
